There are many factors to consider when searching for the best moving companies. In this article we look a little closer at some of the questions you should ask when considering different moving companies.
Have your friends, family, or workmates ever used moving services before? Who did they use, and what was their experience like? Would they recommend anyone? A building manager will definitely have an opinion on where they have had a good experience before.
It’s a good idea to check references. You can often do this is on the moving companies website. Check to see if they are a member of the local BBB (Here is the link to ABE Moving) what is their record like? Knowing their track record on previous moves will save you trouble down the road.
If you compare moving estimates and one is significantly lower, be cautious. There is probably a reason. Some movers do not include fuel charges, insurance and may have other hidden fees. We are firm believers in being up front with our total cost.
When it comes to your belongings, you can never be too safe. Make you’re your estimate includes moving insurance, and know how much it is going to cost you.
Make sure you know your coverage. For example, some only offer a per pound replacement. What does that mean? It means that your beautiful antique may only be worth $50 because it only weighs 50 Lbs.
If that sound unreasonable to you, we agree.
Questions are your best tool. Keep on asking until you are confident you have your answers. There are no shortages of moving companies that can move you, but should they? Make sure you are comfortable, and confident with whoever you choose to move you.
